Location
Welcome and service both very poor - the manager is prickly at best and borders on rude at other times. We had drinks spilt over two of our party and were charged £65 for a pavlova that consisted of a meringue base, cream, 1 kiwi and 8 raspberries - this was sold to us when we booked as a spectacular celebration dessert (it was my sister in law's 40th birthday) but was actually a spectacular rip off - which was later partially refunded when my mother in law called and complained.
Babies and prams are not welcome - despite booking a table and explicitly stating we would need to have our pram with us as we have a 6 week old baby. As we walked into the restaurant with our pram, one of the waitresses exclaimed 'can't you leave that thing outside?'. I wonder whether the restaurant may be equally unwelcoming of wheelchairs as the disabled toilet was inaccessible due to seat covers on the floor. Furthermore 12 of us were squeezed on to a table for 8.
The food is ok but small portions - not worthy of a michelin recommendation.

Great atmosphere, good beer, well above average wholesome food.
Findiing it! It is tucked away.
